The August 14th earthquake in Haiti left a growing death toll, thousands of people displaced, and tens of thousands in need of emergency assistance. UN Women is on the ground leading actions to ensure the rights of women and girls are at the center of the response.
UN Women is delivering emergency support services to women and their families to safeguard livelihoods, provide shelter and ensure access to safe spaces and life skills support.
To make sure that no one is left behind, we are focusing our efforts on facilitating access to food aid, protection kits and services to women and girls and strengthening the resilience of women through financial support and effective changes in economic recovery measures.
Together with other UN agencies, Haiti’s Government, and women’s partner organizations we are ensuring that women and girls are at the center of rebuilding efforts.
