The FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand from 20 July to 20 August 2023. This will be the first time that 32 nations are competing in the Women's World Cup.
As we celebrate important advances in the world of sport, we need to remember that there’s still much to do to end gender inequality both on and off the field:
- Globally, women only make 77 cents for every dollar earned by men1
- In 19 countries, married women do not have the same rights as married men to get a job or pursue a profession2
- 650 million women and girls in the world today were married before age 182
So let’s unite for gender equality, so everyone can play! When girls play and learn, we all win. During the Women’s World Cup, help us help more girls to change the game – and the world – through sport. There can be no higher goal, and no greater win for us all.
