Bring her to school. Let her re-write #HerStory. And Change her community.
We all deserve a second chance. And so do 48% of the out-of-school girls in the world who are likely never to enroll in school. As a result, young women represent 60% of the 103 million youth without basic literacy skills.
Did you know that one-third of girls in poor countries are child brides as a result of limited education and job possibilities? Women and girls are expected to take care of the children, elderly and the sick. This further limits their paid job opportunities outside the home.
To empower these women and girls with knowledge and skills to get out of this vicious cycle, UN Women has created "We Learn" - a free virtual learning platform. Through the use of modern technology and insightful content, we aspire to provide every woman and girl the opportunity to re-write #HerStory.
Her new story will be that of an empowered and confident woman who contest domestic violence, be actively involved in her community and have a decent job. Her children will more likely survive, be well nourished and go to school.
Be a change maker! Rewrite one girl's story at a time. A one-time donation or a monthly gift, every contribution will create learning opportunities to help women get on a path to complete their education, get a job or start their own businesses.
$20 Four girls attend classes on financial and digital literacy.
